Karzai to pay short visit on Thursday

ISLAMABAD, Feb 18 (APP): Afghan President Hamid Karzai will pay a short visit to Islamabad Thursday and hold talks with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minsiter Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, a Foreign Office statement said. The ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan have seen a marked improvement since President Zardari assumed his office and the two leaders have interacted on several occasions. President Zardari recently visited Kabul, while the Afghan President was the guest of honour on the swearing of President Zardari. The two leaders also met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and met in Istanbul as part of second tripartite meeting to remove misunderstandings and strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
