NA Speaker and Deputy Speaker extend felicitations to unopposed Senators

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (APP): Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker and Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly have extended warm felicitations to the unopposed elected Senators from Sindh belonging to PPP and MQM. In their separate felicitation messages to the Senators‑elect, they said that their unopposed election to the Upper House of the Parliament was a substantiation of trust and confidence reposed in them by the leadership of their respective parties and the members of the provincial legislature. They expressed their optimism that they would uphold the democratic norms and work for strengthening of democracy in the country besides articulating issues of vital importance to Sindh province at federal level. The Speaker and Deputy Speaker praised Asif Ali Zardari for his political acumen and foresightedness, which paved way for unopposed election of the Senators from Sindh and lending much needed strength to the political arena of the country. They said that this was the continuation of the reconciliatory approach envisioned by the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
